Drawing_in_the_Media_Stream_Banff is the research and development phase of the next version of the installation,Drawing_in_the_Media_Stream_Belfast. During this residency I will be upgrading the 19th century mobile technology of the landscape painter’s “plein-air” easel into a 21st century, location-aware hybrid vision machines. I will modify two portable easels which will be capable of telematically talking to each other and also producing composit drawings of the real world and cyberspace. After the upgrades on the easels are finished, I will deploy them in the next version this installation at the 2009 International Symposium on Electronic Art (ISEA) in Belfast, Ireland.
